Gel nail polish contains substances called acrylates. These substances ensure that the nail polish hardens and adheres well to the nail. Some acrylates can cause irritation or, in rare cases, an allergic reaction. In most cases, this involves an allergy to HEMA acrylate.
The Pink Gellac assortment available on our website and in our stores is free from HEMA acrylates. Instead, it contains safer alternative acrylates. However, even with these alternative acrylates, repeated skin or cuticle contact may still cause irritation or allergies in rare cases. Therefore, using gel nail polish safely and responsibly is essential.
At Pink Gellac, we take product safety seriously. Naturally, all our products comply with the strict regulations set by European law. The Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) also monitors this and conducts inspections, including at Pink Gellac. In addition to helping consumers use the products safely, we also regularly conduct research on our products. Additionally, a safety expert advises us on the safe composition of our products.
For all our products, following the usage instructions is essential. We recommend avoiding contact between the gel polish and the skin and removing it immediately if it does touch the skin. We also recommend using the same brand’s lamp as the polish to ensure optimal curing.
